Stronghold – Week 1 Update

It has been one week since kick-off! All of our sub-teams have been busy getting ready to build this year’s robot and all is progressing well.

We are also excited to have new mentors this year from ArcelorMittal Dofasco helping us develop our new high strength low alloy steel frame.

Our design team has been brainstorming ideas for the robot. They are in the process of drawing parts of the robot such as the chassis, the boulder intake and the tower scaling mechanism.

week1-3

Design Team: Drawing scaling mechanism.

Our electrical and programming teams have been building the Andy Mark “Chassis Base Kit”. The chassis will be used test sensors we are planning to use and to teach our new programmers how to code basic controls, such as driving.

week1-4

Our programming team has also been updating our control system (updating roboRIO firmware, imaging the roboRio for this year and installing Java 8).

week1-6

Programming Team: Updating control system.

Our field team has been looking over the field drawings for this year’s game and getting the necessary materials to start assembling the field components.
